Finding Serenity Within a Chaotic World

Does God Exist?

A. Balance and Perfection in Science and Nature

The best argument for the existence of God is that everything we see and examine in nature and in science is that there is BALANCE and PERFECTION in the very complex design of all things.

  • Examples from the human body: Liver, Circulatory System, White Blood Cells and DNA

  • Examples from nature: Symbiotic relationship between our atmosphere, people, plants and insects

- Our planet’s atmosphere is constantly being replenished with oxygen through the photosynthesis process of trees and plants.  Sunlight, water and carbon dioxide (which people and animals breath out) are used to create oxygen.

- Our planet’s ozone layer above our atmosphere, is specifically designed to block and reduce the excessively high radiation levels from our Sun.  Without the ozone layer, the Sun’s radiation would cook us like a microwave oven.

THERE ARE COUNTLESS OTHER EXAMPLES IN SCIENCE THAT CONTINUES TO SHOW THAT THIS WORLD COULD NOT HAVE BEEN THROWN TOGETHER ACCIDENTALLY; BUT RATHER THROUGH GOD’S PERFECT UNDERSTANDING OF EVERYTHING.

Imagined entry into the Afterlife

B. “Life After Death, I Don’t Believe It . . ( But, What If I’m Wrong? )

  • Do you live your life thinking that the only thing that exists is what you can see and touch?  Then for you, the thought of dying must be terrifying.  Non Existence; what a waste of a life if all you have to look forward to is just ceasing to exist.

  • If there wasn’t life after death, then what is the point of trying to be moral or helpful to anyone.  What reward do you get out of it?  You can live your life denying the existence of God; but deep down you keep asking yourself  “but, what if I’m wrong?”

C. What Evidence Is There To Support The Existence Of An Afterlife?

The Disciple John's Vision of Prophecies of the Apocalypse

Revelation, Chapter 6, Verses 9 - 10:  "And when he broke the fifth seal, I saw underneath the altar the souls of those who had been slain because of the word of God and because of the testimony which they had maintained; and they cried out with a loud voice, saying 'How long, O Lord, holy and true, wilt Thou refrain from judging and avenging our blood on those who dwell on the earth?' ”

Revelation, Chapter 20, Verse 4: . . . . "And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of the testimony of Jesus and because of the word of God, and those who had not worshiped the beast or his image, and had not received the mark upon their forehead and upon their hand and they came to life and reigned with Christ for a thousand years."

God gives every person a Soul (the source of your Intelligence, Free Will and Emotions). The word ‘Soul’ appears 536 times in almost every book of the Bible (from Genesis to Revelation).  It is first mentioned in Genesis chapter 2, verse 7 “God . . . breathed into his (*1) nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being.”     (*1: Adam)

Your Soul is who you really are (spiritual), not your physical body.  Your physical body is just a temporary vessel that allows your soul to experience this earthly life.  As you live your life, you use your free will to make decisions that affect you and the people around you; decisions that  show God:

  • The choices you make (good and bad).

  • The true nature of your heart towards God and people.

  • What you value most in life.

How you live your life and the true nature of your heart, help determine how you will be judged for a reward in heaven.

Since your true self is ‘spiritual’, you can be assured that:

  1. You are part of a larger infinite realm; God’s realm.

  2. You were created by God.

  3. You are part of God’s eternal purpose.
